Sand Plant Systems

The Dernaseer Sand Plant(DSP) has the functions of Sand Washing, Fines Recovery and Sand Dewatering all in one unit.

The most common use of the DSP is in the production of high Quality Concrete and Building Sand.

Advantages of the DSP.

  • The cyclone can be used to retain 100% of the +150micron material, up to 98% +75 micron material, and as much of the –75micron material as is required according to customer needs.
  • Reduction in moisture content of the output sand to 10/15% of volume.
  • Reduction in the amount of saleable material discharged to lagoons.
  • Reduction in lagoon maintenance.

The DSP is comprised of:

  • Collection Tank
  • Hydrocyclone, Centrifugal Pump
  • Dewatering Screen with Polyurethane Screen Mats

Hydrocyclone:

The hydrocyclone is used to separate subsieve size particles (below 200 microns), according to their relative settling rate, via the centrifugal force created within the cyclone body. The coarser, heavier solids leave the cyclone as underflow, whereas the finer particles leave via the overflow. Some fine, lighter sand particles are also included in the underflow liquid.
